My name is Sara, and I’m the hiker in the valley.
I’ve been hiking all my life, but in early 2019, I decided to step it up few notches by setting new goals, putting myself in situations that would test me, and becoming a stronger person.
I started my journey, worked hard, and reached new heights. Then a car accident sent me plummeting back into the valley, even lower than where I began. Over the past few months, I’ve been on a different sort of climb—one of physical healing and emotional ups and downs.
I’m a school teacher, book editor, a sometimes writer, and a California State Parks volunteer. More importantly, I am a mom and a wife.
My home is located in north San Diego, in a semi-rural valley town that sits in the shadow of Palomar Mountain. There are almost limitless opportunities for outdoor excursions where I live, many of which allow for spectacular hiking experiences.
I’m looking forward to sharing some of these experiences with you!
